Welcome to Holman’s where good food has been served for more than 80 years. Originally a small lunch counter, legend says that during Prohibition was a bootlegger’s saloon. Then, after the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, it became the “Hello Inn”.

When we bought Holman’s in the 70’s, seating was limited to less than a dozen people. Through the years we have expanded by adding the North Dining Room (formerly a part of a Rexall Drug Store), the Game Room (formerly a bicycle and lawnmower repair shop), and our Garden Patio (which was converted from an old used appliance graveyard).

These days we open seven days a week from 8am to 2:30am serving breakfast all day, as well as lunch and dinner. We also have an abundant selection of libations to compliment your meal. This includes our collection of fine whiskeys, which we invite you to try by joining our Whiskey Club. Once you complete the the program, you become a part of Holman’s History and that distinction is memorialized by having your name engraved on a brass plate which is displayed on our back-bar!

On Saturday and Sunday mornings we present Portland’s Original Bloody Mary Bar, where you get the unique opportunity to customize your own Bloody Mary by adding ingredients from our selection of over 100 mixes, hot sauces and fresh garnishes. (Because hangovers deserve creativity too!)

Also, don’t forget to take part in what is perhaps our most popular feature: Holman’s famous “Meal Wheel” on which we have had more than 17,000 winners! After enjoying your meal, just give the wheel a spin and if you match up the two Red Arrows… your food is FREE!
